Lin is a self-initiated object study developed during the final semester of my bachelor’s degree. Starting from the encounter between two materials, the project explores how steel and cork can produce a quiet, everyday object with both precision and softness.

A water-jetted sheet of steel forms the main body. Pressed with a custom die, the flat sheet becomes a lifted handle, turning an industrial process into a subtle gesture. Beneath it, a cork base cushions the object and softens its contact with the surface below. Lin became a study in metalworking, material contrast, and the expressive potential of a simple functional form.
